Day 1: Lima

Upon your arrival to the Lima Airport, you will be welcomed by one of our representatives, who will provide a brief introduction to the city and our services while driving you to your hotel in Miraflores. You will have the remainder of the day free to relax and get acquainted with the city at your own pace. Depending on your arrival time, we have plenty of suggestions for you so you can make the most of your first day in Lima.

Day 2: Lima City Tour & the Bohemian neighborhood of Barranco; Flight to Cusco

Get ready to explore Lima and all it has to offer! Our tour starts in the morning with a visit to the Historic Downtown area. First, you will stop off at the Main Square, where you will walk through its most important streets and observe its architectural monuments like the Cathedral and the Government Palace. Afterwards you will head to the San Francisco Convent and its renowned catacombs. 

You will complete your tour of Lima with a visit to the Bohemian neighborhood of Barranco, a neighborhood called home by countless artists, photographers, and authors. Walk along beautiful streets lined with Republican houses, admire the splendid views, and visit the Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs), the source of inspiration for one of Peru’s great composers, Chabuca Granda. 

You will then be taken to the airport and fly to Cusco, where you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 3: Cusco: City Tour & San Pedro Market

Today we will explore the amazing city of Cusco, which was the Capital of the Inca empire and one of the most historical cities in the Americas.
In the morning, you will begin your tour visiting the Fortress of Sacsayhuamán, one the most important military and ceremonial centers in Incan times. We will continue our tour strolling through the main square, where you will be able to explore the Cathedral and admire its exquisite vestibules and priceless paintings from the Cusco School of the 17th and 18th centuries. Just a few blocks away, you will explore one of Cusco’s most impressive buildings, Qoricancha or Temple of the Sun, whose interior walls were said to have been covered in gold.
As you return to the lower part of the city, you will stop off at the San Pedro Market, where you will be mesmerized by the variety of unique and traditional produce and discover new aromas and tastes of the region.

Day 4: Sacred Valley: Chinchero, Maras, Moray & Ollantaytambo

Today you will experience a full-day private guided excursion throughout the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
First, you will visit the ruins of the Andean village of Chinchero, located high-up on the windswept plains of Anta (12,342.52 feet). You will find yourself surrounded by gorgeous views overlooking the Sacred Valley and the snow-capped peak of Salkantay dominating the western horizon. This excursion combines Incan ruins with a typical Andean village, a colonial church, some wonderful mountain views, and a colorful traditional market.
En route, you will witness one of the best sites in the valley: the huge circular agricultural terraces at Moray, built by the Incas in natural sinkholes. They sit on a limestone plateau overlooking the Urubamba Valley. 

For lunch, you will enjoy a traditional Peruvian – Andean cuisine at Tunupa Restaurant, conveniently located in a beautiful setting overlooking the Urubamba River. In the afternoon, you will continue on to visit Ollantaytambo, an old Inca fortified village where we may observe some of the best examples of Inca architecture in the region. Surviving structures here include multiple walls and towers that were used to protect the citadel from possible invasions.

Day 5: Machu Picchu; Citadel Excursion – Cusco

After a very early rise, you will board the train from the Ollantaytambo Station heading to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). This train journey is a spectacle in itself! You will be able to appreciate Peru’s immense biodiversity as you witness the landscape transition from Andean green fields to lush rainforest, descending alongside the Urubamba River.
Upon your arrival to the Aguas Calientes train station, you will take a 20 minute bus ride up to the spectacular site of Machu Picchu. You will explore this enigmatic sanctuary where your expert guide will lead you through the ruins, providing archaeological and historical information on key areas of interest, including The Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana (the Sun Dial) and the Sacred Plaza. You will appreciate the most amazing views from the top of the citadel! This is an opportunity to revel in the energy and atmosphere of one of the most significant and spectacular archaeological sites of the world, surrounded by the cloud forest.
You will also have the opportunity to see Llamas meandering around in their natural environment. 

After descending to Machu Picchu Pueblo, you will have some free time for lunch, and wander through this picturesque town. In the afternoon, you will board the return train to Ollantaytambo Station where one of our representatives will be waiting for you to take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Day 6: Free Day in Cusco

To spend your time in the beautiful Cusco at your own discretion, this day is at your leisure. Cusco is for many visitors the most beautiful city of the country and offers many opportunities for a nice day. In addition to the beautiful old town and the Inca ruins just a few minutes outside the city, you can also take a cooking class, stroll through the artists' district of "San Blas", visit one of the many museums or learn more about the astronomy of the Incas in the Planetarium in the evening.

Note: You can also go on a hike to the rainbow mountain Palccoyo or Vinicunca on this day.

Day 7: Cusco - Bogota

In the morning you will be taken to the airport and fly via Lima or directly to Bogota. Once there, you will be taken to your hotel.
In the evening, you can walk through the streets and discover Bogota's old town on your own.

Day 8: City Tour Bogota & the Shrine of Monserrate

Today we discover Bogota on a city tour. We visit the historic center of Bogota in the La Candelaria district and pass the most important sights. We visit the Plaza de Bolivar, where the seats of the state and district governments, the Congress and the Palace of Justice are located, as well as the city's main cathedral. We then walk through the streets and colonial houses to the Gold Museum, where impressive pieces of pre-Columbian gold and silver work by the indigenous Colombian people are on display. We continue to the Botero Museum, an interesting art collection donated to the city by the famous Colombian painter Fernando Botero.

Finally, we visit the shrine of Monserrate. We reach this sanctuary by cable car or funicular. It is not only a very famous place of pilgrimage in Colombia, but also offers a spectacular panoramic view over the city.

Day 9: Bogota - Cartagena; Walking City Tour Cartagena

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Bogota and driven to the airport. From there you will fly to Cartagena, where you will be picked up and taken to your hotel.
In the afternoon we start our walking city tour through the narrow streets of Cartagena.
During the walk you will discover many influences such as Romanesque, Moorish, colonial, military, Arab, Spanish and North American that have shaped Cartagena. You will also pass by Bolivar Park, in front of the Palace of the Inquisition, one of the most beautiful buildings in the city, and the Plaza de San Pedro Claver, dedicated to the Spanish friar known as the “slave of slaves” because he dedicated his life to caring for the African slaves who were brought to the Spanish colonies.
The Getsemaní neighborhood, named one of the coolest neighborhoods in the world by Forbes magazine, is also a must-see on this city tour. You will then be taken back to your hotel.

Day 10: The Rosarios Islands

The Rosario Islands are located about 40 km south of Cartagena and are a popular destination for those who want to enjoy a white sandy beach and calm waters in the best Caribbean style.
We will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the pier at La Bodeguita, where you will board a shared speedboat to the Islabela beach hotel. Once there, you will be greeted with a welcome cocktail, accommodated directly on the beach and enjoy a typical lunch of fish and coconut rice. Enjoy the morning on the island, where you can also book snorkeling, hiking or other short excursions, and return to Cartagena in the afternoon. We will be waiting for you at the jetty and take you back to your hotel.

Day 11: Cartagena - Santa Marta

In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the bus station in Cartagena. From there, you will take the bus to Santa Marta.

You will then arrive in Santa Marta and be taken to your hotel.

Day 12: Tayrona National Park

Today we experience the beauty of Tayrona National Park. We start our full-day tour in the morning and travel to the most beautiful and best-known national park in South America. The park is known for its unique flora and fauna and its breathtaking the park captivates with its breathtaking palm-fringed beaches on the Caribbean coast. We hike to some of the park's most beautiful beaches and, with a bit of luck, have the opportunity to spot various animals such as monkeys and lizards.
We spend the night in the vicinity of Tayrona National Park.

Day 13: Tayrona National Park - Santa Marta - Bogota
