Peru received six awards at the 2026 World Travel Awards for South America, including five awards for the country and one for Machu Picchu. The awards recognize Peru’s food, culture, nature and work in sustainable tourism.

The 6th award went to Machu Picchu, which was named South America’s Leading Tourist Attraction 2026. The iconic Inca site has now won this category for the sixth year in a row.
