Barcelona–Lima Direct Flights to Begin in June 2026

Peru has announced the launch of direct flights between Barcelona, Spain, and Lima, Peru, scheduled to start in June 2026, marking an important step in strengthening air connectivity between Europe and South America.

The new route will offer nonstop service between Barcelona–El Prat Airport and Lima’s Jorge Chávez International Airport, improving access for European travelers interested in visiting Peru for tourism, culture, and business. The service is expected to operate with three weekly flights, expanding travel options beyond traditional European hubs.

Authorities highlighted that this new connection aims to boost international tourism and reinforce Lima’s role as a growing regional air hub. Spain remains one of Peru’s key European markets, and the Barcelona–Lima route will make it easier for travelers from Spain and neighboring countries to reach Peru directly.

The announcement forms part of broader efforts to increase international flight connectivity and attract more visitors to Peru, especially from Europe, where interest in cultural, gastronomic, and nature-based travel to the country continues to grow.
